Americanism and the American spirit is what Elkdom is based upon. We as Elks have a more intense understanding and appreciation of what it means to be an American. It is our duty as Elks to remind and promote the American spirit in our communities, and spread the word across our lands. We do this by participating in and inspiring others to participate in our Americanism programs. Our program  consist of some of the following:
  • Displaying the American Flag
  • Conducting our Flag Day Services
  • Building and displaying Heritage Corners in our Lodges
  • Promoting and participating in the Americanism Essay Contest (WHAT FREEDOM MEANS TO ME)
  • Participate in the Special Recognition Certificate Program
  • Compete in the Americanism Brochure Contest
  • Hold a Law and Order Night at your Lodge
  • Honor new American Citizens Participate in and celebrate National Patriotism Week.

There are many more good ideas on how to promote and celebrate Americanism in the Americanism Manual and in the resources in your Lodges and communities. Always be on the look out for new ways to promote Americanism in your Lodges and communities. Don't be afraid to share your ideas with other Lodges in our district and in our state.
