The purpose of the Elks Training Program is to ensure that all Elks, and Lodges in the District, know and follow our Order’s Laws and Procedures.

With this in mind the Elks Training Program was developed to accomplish just that, a knowledgeable membership.  The program is different every year to reflect all aspects of the Order and to make us aware of changes made to the Statutes during the Grand Lodge Convention.

The test questions for this year are taken from the following:
  • Statutes Annotated
  • Lodge Activities Manual
  • Membership Program and Planning Manual
  • Auditing, Accounting and Management Manual
  • Manual on Protocol
  • Ritual Manual

Members wishing to participate can take the test by themselves on in a group setting. The group setting is a great method as it affords an education of the “nuts and bolts” of the Order for the new members in your Lodge and an opportunity for long time members to refresh their knowledge and to interact with new members. However each Lodge may do what works best for them. If the group method is for you, please have all the necessary manuals available to use.  Your Lodge Secretary can get these for you.

All participants should take their time, read question carefully, and mark the answer sheet.  The State Elks Training Chairman has requested that all participants list the reference where answers were found, including page number, section, opinion, decision and or paragraph.

Completed answer sheets may be scored by the Lodge Chairman or forwarded to me, District Chair, for scoring. Those that complete the program with fewer that 5 incorrect answers will receive a Grand Exalted Ruler’s Special Citation.

All completed tests must be submitted before March 15th 2008.

The State Association with the greatest percentage of participating members and the State Association with the great percentage of participating Lodges will receive awards at the Grand Lodge Convention in 2008.
